The studio

A small studio that finishes what it starts.

CrackMac Creative Studios is an independent studio making games and interactive work. It is deliberately small: one team, building at a scale where every part of a release can be done properly.

Structure

The studio and its label.

Two marks, one team. The split keeps game releases and live operations clean, and leaves room for work that is neither.

CrackMac Creative Studios

The parent studio and publisher. It runs the live projects, this site, and the direction of everything that carries the mark. Not tied to any one genre.

CrackMac Games

The development label. It builds and ships the games. Its current release is The Diepenheim Record, a horror chapter for Windows.

Right now

Two projects, one continuity.

The current releases both take place in the same setting: a game you can finish and a live world that keeps running. Playing one makes the other richer, and neither requires the other.

That continuity belongs to the projects, not to the studio. Future work can look nothing like it.

Approach

How the work gets made.

Ship whole things

A release is a complete experience with a beginning and an end, not a promise. Nothing is announced before it is real.

Systems before set pieces

Mechanics that create their own moments beat scripted ones. The current game is built entirely around that idea.

One design surface

Game interfaces, live terminals and the website are treated as one body of design, so everything with the mark feels made by the same hands.

Small on purpose

Staying small keeps quality visible. Versioned builds, automated test gates and proper installers, even for a free game.

"Built to be finished" cuts both ways: the work ships complete, and it is made to be completed by the player.
